A couple of years ago, with Chris Ryall egging me on, I was kicking around the idea of a Dracula vs Tarzan miniseries. Yet to put pencil to paper, but I did have what I thought was a cool idea for the storytelling format.

Here's a story I've always wanted to see:

Superman vs. the Shadow, in 1943 (the year Clark started flying in the comics).

It would involve Lois Lane and her cousin Margo Lane.

I imagine JB would have a very fun time writing and drawing it.

Since Gerry Anderson shows were already mentioned...

VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA (thinking more of the black & white Season One stories, than the later "monster of the week" color plots).

THE TIME TUNNEL

So many great ideas. I'm especially enamored of the ones involving a period setting. Dracula vs. Tarzan is an interesting idea, and I'd love to see a Superman team-up with the Shadow, if only to highlight (!) the differences between that character and the Batman. And that Margo/Lois connection is right there, waiting to be explored. Perhaps they could accompany one another's hero on the case... "Changing Lanes."

And JB seems made for a Dick Sprang-Jerry Robinson era Batman series! A TV version done right.

Upon reflection, I think the best thing we could see right now, all things being equal, which they are not, would be a return of JB to Captain America. For more than ten years, the character has been, along with the FF, a gigantic sinkhole for Marvel, embodying and exemplifying the event-chasing, extended storyline morass in which the company has been drowning. A clean, clear, well-done Cap striding forward in the midst of all this moral decay and muddled, misdirected sales-hype-cum-story-sludge would go a long way towards sending the message that Marvel at the very least wants to get back on course, and is prepared to hire the people necessary to right the ship.

Just a pipe dream and I know that, but it would be nigh-unto miraculous to have a Cap the reader could look up to once more; to genuinely feel that increased pulse rate when Cap walks into a room the way we used to. And a Bucky/Winter Soldier clone reveal really can't come fast enough...

Just to go a slightly different direction, I would LOVE to see JB do an going Fallout comic (based on the video game franchise). That world seems very JB.

••

When I was working thru Dark Horse, and they were in bed with Fox, I actually pitched a sequel series, Seaview II and all that.

I’d have liked to see JB do The Eternals. I always enjoy seeing JB’s version of Kirby creations.

JB doing anything works for me, but my what if's... just to see what he do with these characters/story are the Legion of Super Heroes with or without Superboy, Moon Knight and Marvel's original Captain Marvel.

Sherlock Holmes, or a mash-up of Victorian villains (bit like LoEG) might be interesting.

A JB adaptation of The Three Investigators?

And a run on Rogue Trooper.

A series or special with this guy would seem like a natural fit...
