Wonder Man, as the character was when JB was using him in Avengers West Coast.

Stoop?

Those vowel sounds are the hardest to turn into extended cries.
"Nooooooooooo" has long vexed me. It turns into a cow sound in my
ears. So I started using "no-oooooh!"

—-

Great, JB. Now I’ll never be able to type that again without thinking
of a cow.

The sentiment remains though. Mike Purdy must not share an
impossible idea that wonderful ever again.

"...one of my hopes for that imaginary JB Hawkman series would have been that it prominently feature Adam Strange, Alanna, and Sardath in at least a storyline or two."

...

Good call Brian, and vice versa.

So many great ideas here to conjure with... I like how so many of the suggestions are moody and atmospheric in nature. Neil, I've long wondered how Kamandi would have looked had it proceeded from JB's OMAC mini-series.

And hey, Space Ghost?! Or Puck on his own? Maybe looking out for Marrina? Magic.

"A Puck solo series!!"

Seconded! I love Alpha Flight wholeheartedly, but I think Puck is the only character that could carry his own book without significant changes from how we saw them in AF.

I'm talking about the team as of issue 28, of course, SINCE WE NEVER HEARD OR SAW ANY OF THE CHARACTERS AGAIN AFTER THAT!

*sticks fingers in ears*

I'll also vote for a Dr. Strange series. Loved the way JB handled him in Namor!

Had to pop in on this topic. I might've answered Sheena The Jungle Queen at one time but I have seen her show up in some commisioned art and feel satisified that I've now seen a Byrne Sheena... so now be prepared to have you conceptual universes rocked...

The Bugaloos! You know, that Krofft show with the brit kids with wings and Billy Barty as a firefly and Martha Raye with a nazi rat in a giant jukebox... I would like to see that. There was a Charlton comic for it 'back in tha day' but it was pretty crudely done unfortunately. And then why stop with Bugaloos... there'd be Seamonsters and hatty people from Lidsville, and H.R. Pufnstuf, and Land Of The Lost (Chaka the Pakuni carried that show, man)... Far-Out Space-Nuts and the Lost Saucer and Dr. Shrinker...  if that's not a 'universe'... Big Foot & Wildboy, Wonder Bug, Magic Mongo, Elektra Woman & Dynagirl... does the mind reel?

The Archie/MLJ heroes- Mighty Crusaders etc.

If anybody could turn these characters into contenders it's JB!  Gritty street level crinefighter the Black Hood would be neat. As would the Fly- there has to be a saga involving that race of Fly-people who gave Tommy Troy his ring that's plays to JB's strengths.  So much potential in the Jaguar, Mr. Justice, the Shield, Comet & Wizard.

I would love a long run on that. Shame that Archie starts, then stops & changes direction on these characters too much to make this happen.

He's said many a time before that he had no real interest in the Valiant characters.  Still and all, I think a JB run on Eternal Warrior could have been amazing.  Its a character I like with a strong premise, but given that premise, also incredibly flexible.  You can tell pretty much any type of story you want with Gilad, set at pretty much any point in history.

Suicide Squad for me. I loved the John Ostrander run on the title and in many ways it was the closest that DC got to something like JB's run on AF. Would love to see what JB would do with it.
