Let's keep this upbeat. What characters or concepts would you have liked to have seen our host tackle that he didn't get much of a shot at while working at Marvel, DC, or the Independents? Clearly, there are books he himself created that we would have liked to have seen more of, but this thread isn't about that exactly.
He did a fine Hawkman and Hawkwoman in Action Comics, and made me think that a Hawk title by JB would have been a pleasure to read. A Plastic Man commission on this forum had me shaking my head that we didn't get more of his work on that character. A mini-series or series of mini-series starring his non-powered Richards Rocket Group from What If #36 seems tantalizing with the possibilities it offers.
Obviously, if JB himself had much of a hankering for such stuff, he would have done it, but who would you like to have seen him tell the stories of on a regular basis?

I was offered DOCTOR STRANGE at the same time I was gearing up on SENSATIONAL SHE-HULK. Briefly we discussed making both books bimonthly, so I would not be overloaded, but in the end I went with Jennifer.

I'm with Bill, The Invaders.
At DC it would be Adam Strange.
Re: What If #36 I think I remember seeing an announcement on the letters page that JB would love to do more of those de-powered stories. Of course that may have been the editor volunteering Mr. Byrne's services.

Doug, one of my hopes for that imaginary JB Hawkman series would have been that it prominently feature Adam Strange, Alanna, and Sardath in at least a storyline or two.

JB's run on THE INCREDIBLE HULK was so short it hardly counted as a run. Remember X-MEN FOREVER and X-FACTOR FOREVER? I'm dying to see JB's THE INCREDIBLE HULK FOREVER.
