There have been rumors that Bendis had been given an editorial rubber stamp at Marvel, which is why his stories have been a rambling, dull mess. So the optimistic idea out there is that Bendis will better at DC, who will certainly make sure he corrects the disappointing aspects of his writing. I can't remember any comic book writer who instantly became better with a change of editors. As a fan of the current Superman titles, I'm upset.

BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.
DC is the company that had two back to back events that each killed off the New Gods because lack of communication on the editorial level. Not two stories. Two EVENTS.

I look forward to Luther talking like the Kingpin, because Bendis can only write one style of speech pattern.Sign of a good writer? Each character has their own voice and you could guess who it would be by what they say and how they say it.

Bendis has written some big, high-action superhero books, and I think the change of scenery will do him good. I'm sure he'll knock this out of the park, especially if he's paired with a top artist.

I'm not a Bendis hater. I like Powers and Alias/Jessica Jones quite a bit. I also enjoyed the Ultimate Spider-Man stuff I read, back before Peter died and was replaced by Miles. But most of his mainstream comics work the dialogue just seemed wrong for the characters. The worst example of it would be the dialogue in Avengers: Disassembled. Obviously, he improved over the years, but it still feels slightly off and wrong to me when he writes the iconic characters like Captain America and Iron Man. Too much of the Bendis Mamet thing and not enough of the voice and personality they've had for decades. I just don't see Superman as a good fit for him, especially for this reason. I've also been enjoying the main Superman title since Rebirth when they brought back the Man of Steel version of Superman so I'm bummed out that team is not going to be doing the book anymore.

Each to their own, but I gave that title seven issues before I gave up (the first seven). I don't know why it took so long to tell Spider-Man's origin, plus I did not enjoy their interpretation of Goblin.
Not sure I read any, or many, after that.
