I'm quite happy for Batman to be with or without the yellow oval. I grew up with the yellow oval, and consider it to be a slightly more iconic look, but I have no problem with the oval-less version.
Similarly, with Iron Man, my preferred look is for the classic golden avenger armour, but also quite liked the Silver Centurion version when they introduced it and had no problem with the subsequent gold and red in the late 80s (though quietly wished they'd eventually go back nearer to the classic look). Not a great fan of the endless, chunkier and more complicated variants of later years, but then I don't read the comics any more so no problem!
I have a slight preference for JB's black and white FF costumes over the originals, which I thought was a kind of seamless update.
Much preferred the newer version of Captain Britain's uniform introduced by Alan Davis over the original and the Beetle armour with the spiky mask over the original with the long fingers.

One costume I've never got is the Vanisher's. It oozes with snake iconography, but his powers are teleportation. I can see him accidentally getting recruited by the Serpent Squad.

Reminds me of a WCW wrestler who they wrapped up in bandages - but then called the Yeti.

Robbie, that one's easy to understand. "Should we unwrap him? IS THE WCW READY TO FACE THE YETI?!?"
"Not yeti! NOT YETI!"
"<Sigh>. Dammit. Okay, get his mother back here, then."

Eric, we must have a drink one day. Seriously.
Thinking more about this topic, I'm not that keen on the Riddler's more formal modern attire. Nor am I keen on his hat. More of a fan of, say, his 60s look.

Robbie my friend, the first pint's on me. If you ever get to Cleveland, or if I ever sojourn to Britain... we'll connect up!

No outfit the Riddler has ever had in the comics has ever been as bad as the outfit from the end of Batman Forever.
And Mike Norris is dead on about the Vanisher. Does the snake look make his powers work better, or something?

The Vanisher's costume is very odd, now that you come to mention it. Anyone know the thinking behind it?

Vanisher started out with a brown suit with blue/gray cape and gloves. Going green sure did give him a serpant look. Not sure why the change.

Regarding Wonder Man. His green and red suit with the jet back pack....worse suit ever on anybody.
Best costume - I actually liked this one the most but would have liked it more if it wasn't green and red focussed.
Mixing green and red on a costume is always tough to do, IMO. Maybe blue instead of green.
