Well done with those last few finds Matt, they'd eluded me. And you've done a fantastic job on the colour picture!

Bottom shelf next to Big Shot.

Seems like this mag should have been placed top shelf away from the comics.

LOL! My thought exactly, Doug! And let me say, I am glad you figured out that book was "Frolic." I could tell it was a more adult book, but I couldn't decipher what the title was. Thanks for locating those covers.

Some of the comics in the back rows will really be a challenge,  with only a hint of what was on the cover, and in black and white, in low resolution.

Great additions, everyone!

Both DC and Marvel tried repeatedly in the 70s to make a go of larger, more expensive comic book formats... DC had their 100-page Super Spectaculars (60 cents when a regular comic cost 20) and later their Dollar Comics (when a regular comic was 30 cents).

This was right when I was getting into comics.  My subscriptions ran out much faster owing to the increased price of the 100 pagers, which was distressing.  At the time, I avoided those thick comics on the newsstand but subsequently (probably when I had more money!) I sought out as many of them as possible.  The Dollar Comics were mostly all new material IIRC, though a lot of the backup stories felt a bit "fluffy."   I really enjoyed the 100 pagers, which usually seemed to feature better quality reprints alongside new material.

Marvel tried their line of double-sized (and priced) Giant-Size books in 1974-75.  Trouble was, none of them sold.  Kids invariably chose the smaller, cheaper books, despite the fact that their per page cost was more.

I found the Marvel double-sized books disappointing, though perhaps that's because for me the mid-70s wasn't the best time at Marvel in general.

Here's one on the floor level row of many Westerns that we haven't really tackled (I think a lot of these are gettable with some effort).

I don't know how I didn't realize originally that the comic behind "Super Mystery" was another copy of the same issue.

Thanks, Rick. I have been trying to complete the comic books before tackling some of the other books, though I veered off into those adult/military cartoon books. I am grateful to have you guys also looking for the covers to the assorted publications. It's amazing how many resources there are to help on the Internet. I have even used eBay to help in finding the covers.

Another bottom row... I knew it was 10 Story Western Magazine but I went by the obvious Aug 1945 issue a bunch of times thinking he was facing the other way... but this has to be it.

...

Yeah, I noticed that, Matt.
Same with the "Crown Comics" in the second row.

...and man that mag second row from bottom between "Yank" and Detective Comics sure looks like the "Rib Tickler" from the top row. What do you think?
