It seems to me that recently, Alan Davis doesn't stick on an assignment long. Maybe six issues, maybe eight - and that's the tenure.

Certainly it's his choice, but I can't help but wish that he would give a long run on a series. I so enjoy his art.

The only problem with Ditko staying on past # 38 on AMAZING SPIDER-MAN would be that it meant less of John Romita on that title.

John Romita, Sr. Is my Spider-Man artist, but it's difficult to find fault with
the idea of more Steve Ditkp Spider-Man!

It's been interesting to read your choices, and note how my own short runs were so very rarely MY idea!

It's hard to regret your short runs TOO much since you then quickly moved on to another project we all loved!  Likewise, Neal Adams was always doing SOMETHING.  Alan Davis, however, seems to take a lot of time off between projects, so it might be nice if some of those projects went longer.

But, seriously, Mike Kaluta goes years (decades) between things--if only all that downtime was filled with THE SHADOW!

Combining two threads for a second:

I wish Alan Weiss had done more than that one issue of SHAZAM!  Weiss is a great talent whose work is always welcome, but I think more than one comic every five years would be great.

Now, I want to live in a universe where Romita drew THE CREEPER or THE BLUE BEETLE...

I think Claremont/Byrne X-Men was about a perfect length run. I wish Claremont had had more success on other titles so he could have left X-Men earlier. He had some weak spots in a rather successful tenure. I don't even think I was upset when Byrne left, because Cockrum replaced him, and the idea of seeing the New X-Men's co-creator return excited me (despite not at the time having seen those pre-Byrne comics).

Pretty much anything by Stern and Byrne could be extended indefinitely. And Stern/Buscema/Palmer on Avengers was unceremoniously cut short!

New Mutants started off so strong, then became very pedestrian after McLeod left. (Mostly the fault of management for making the series premiere as a graphic novel, which put Bob behind schedule!)
