Original image....

••

At least the "remastered" version understands buildings should be darker than sky!

Hate to say it boss, but your newer stuff is better.

Would you have accepted a "one and done" cover request from the big M?

I was hesitant to comment... I think the "remastered" version compliments your artwork more than the original colors did.

It IS some of the best computer coloring I've seen out of Marvel. Only complaint would be the hi-lites on Ben's "plates".

The buildings look flipped upside-down in the original due to the coloring.

That's because it doesn't LOOK like computer coloring!  I've always preferred hand-done coloring--or coloring that looks hand-done!  (I'm a little tired of people looking like plastic--especially women that look like they're made out of water balloons!)

Shane - Believe it or not, there are people who pay those prices because of the perceived "rarity" of a limited print run. I know a guy who within the last year or so, sold a fairly recent Spider-Man variant for almost 10k.

It boggles the mind.

It's rotten that Marvel isn't giving you royalties for the use of your art on these covers. It's wrong that the guy who colored it gets more than the guy who created the drawing. I get that it's older art,  and you got paid years ago for it originally,  but if Marvel continues to profit fromantic its reuse, it would be nice to give the artist a bit of that money.

Does Marvel still give royalties when reprinting the entire comic stories? If so, I wonder why the distinction for an individual image?

Since being bought by Disney, Marvel has seemed much more fastidious about paying royalties on ever use.

That would not have occurred to me, but now I can't un-
see it!

That's probably my favorite drawing of the Thing by JB. It's right in-between the early, "lumpy" thing and the "orange rock guy" we're all used to.
