Perusing the Marvel solicitations online, I saw that in a few months they're bringing back a quasi-FF title, Marvel-Two-in-One, with the Thing and the Human Torch starring. Then I saw the usual list of variant covers for the first issue, only to find....a John Byrne variant?
JB, is this old art of yours that they recycled?

That's one of the FF pin-ups from the one-shot which reprinted FF Annual # 1 with a few new pages to expand Namor's origin (drawn by JB, doing his Kirby impression).

Mr. Byrne's art on the Invaders alone was worth the price of admission!

Saw what?! For a new comic? Nothing like manufactured rarity, eh?

Hmm.... Marvel seems to be using what JB art it can these days. There's also that Dark Phoenix art for that new series.

For 2K you can get a JB original of The Thing. And then some.

Exactly, Paul. I noticed there's a page of original art from Generations 3 on E-bay for 350 bucks. That's a steal. One new comic for 2k is a major rip off. Do they actually get people to pay these prices? Think of all the great silver age books you could get for 2k too that are genuinely rare in great condition.
