My small list(includes stuff I saved from last week):

DC:

Blood of the Demon #2 - Need I say more.

Marvel:

Incredible Hulk #80 - Part 4(of 5), Lee Weeks and Palmer.

Spectacular Spider-Man #26 - Only one more issue of this title after this, right?

Ultimate FF #17 - We'll see how much longer this story lasts.

Ultimate Secret #1 - Maybe they'll eventually show U. Galactus by issue 4

Misc:

Freaks Hardcover - Bruce Jones and Berni Wrightson, in glorious B&W.

Nah. They are saving that for the third mini series.

I'm not going to my LCS until tomorrow. Can't wait to read BOTD # 2.

It's a quality, not quantity week:

Blood of the Demon # 2

Green Lantern: Rebirth # 5

Incredible Hulk # 80

Superman / Batman #18

My favorite series, favorite mini, JB's new title, and PAD on Hulk. Good stuff.

DC

Bought Identity Crisis 1 and 2 for my dad

Seven Soliders-Zatanna #1-don't know about this

Detective Comics 805-forget what is going on here

Batman Superman #18-almost done with it, but like this time travel story

GL Rebirth 5-Pleasant surprise, thought it wasn't coming out.

Blood of the Demon #2-Looks good

Marvel

GLA 1-Decent read. Fun.  Except for monkey joe or whatever

Strange 5-forget where we left off

Incredible Hulk #80-The ending just cannot be true, but it is a doozy if it is.  Whoah boy.  I think it isn't though

and odd week with so many DC issues

A medium-haul week for me:

  • BOTD 2 - I flipped through the first look last week, and it's a doozy!
  • MARVEL TEAM-UP 7 - Kirkman and Kolins are creating a fun, old-school Marvel title.  I love it.  This one stars Spider-Man and Moon Knight!
  • GL REBIRTH 5 - Johns goodness!
  • DETECTIVE COMICS 805 - Lapham is writing a really fun noir tale with several interconnecting subplots.  A good read.
  • GLA MISASSEMBLED 1 - I loved Slott's work on SHE-HULK, so I'm giving this the benefit of the doubt.  I also like Pelletier's work quite a bit.
  • INCREDIBLE HULK 80 - PAD Psychobabble.  Blech.  Fantastic Lee Weeks art is the only thing keeping me from dropping this title.  You just don't see enough Weeks on many titles these days.
  • SUPERNATURAL FREAK MACHINE 1 - Steve Niles & Kelly Jones taking Cal McDonald to IDW.  Let the fun commence!
  • USM 75 - Playing catch-up on this title.
  • UFF 17 - Ditto.
  • VERTIGO FIRST TASTE TPB - Six first issues from some of their most heralded titles; DEATH: THE HIGH COST OF LIVING, SWAMP THING, TRANSMETROPOLITAN, Y: THE LAST MAN, 100 BULLETS and BOOKS OF MAGICK: LIFE DURING WARTIME.  All for $4.99.  I have two of the six, but I've been curious about several of the others.  For the price, not too shabby.

I went to my local store (Brian's Books, in Santa Clara, CA), got my copy of SEVEN SOLDIERS: ZATANNA, took it to clerk, and he informs me that (penciller) Ryan Sook happened to be there.  What a pleasant surprise!  I got a bonus autograph with my usal stack o' comics.

Very disappointed with this week's Rebirth.  Read terribly to me.

Some interesting surprises in Superman/Batman that may tie into CRISIS.

I gotta call you on that, Rob.  You may have thought it read terribly, but I thought it was really great.  Two lines stick out to me:

1) When Sinestro is racing across the moon to confront Hal at the beginning of the issue:

Hal:I don't hear any voices.  Nothing inside screaming you cannot do this.  Or telling me to go and 'find' myself.  No more soul-searching road trips.  I'm Hal Jordan.  Man. Pilot. Green Lantern.

GREAT STUFF!!! We know exactly what kind of GL Johns will be writing from that line alone.

2) Of particular interest to Kyle fans, and how he might be perceived by Hal, when Sinestro is about to do battle with him again on an asteroid:

Sinestro: I've contacted Parallax.  I influence it as I influenced you.  It will consume your homeworld, Jordan.  You will fail your sector.  And then I'll finish with Kyle Rayner.  I'll kill the alley rat.

Hal: Kyle held the torch when no one else did.  When no one else could.

Sinestro: Rayner is a fool.  I will slice the creature's chest open and rip out his useless heart.

Hal: NO.  You will respect him.

What a great exchange.  I also thought the cliffhanger was typical Johns goodness.  Can't wait for the final issue.
