Bill, I wonder if those gaudy comics will be the subject of nostalgia in years to come. Or decades.

There are blogs, sites and so much else devoted to EAGLE, ROY OF THE ROVERS, THE BEANO, etc. Will the gaudy comics and their cheap tat get sites/blogs looking back in 2050? I doubt it.

I doubt it too,as they are so simplistic and unmemorable
now.I remember the tv advert for Thunder nearly 50 years
later(I`d be about 5),and asking my dad to get it for
me,the comic itself was probably aimed at kids older
than me,but i enjoyed it,even if i was a bit out of my
depth!

Let me tell you a story: about a decade ago, the BBC did a ROBIN HOOD series. It didn't last long, but a licensed comic soon followed.

In that comic were arrows between panels. Yes, arrows between panels. I don't think it was a gimmick associated with Robin Hood, I think the editor genuinely thought the young readers needed to be directed to each panel.

A decent artist would lead the eye, without the need for
arrows!
