My beef was the writer doesn't need to mix in 3rd party opinion, rhetoric , or conjecture…•• So many writers are terrified about uttering any opinion that does not follow the prevailing wind (as they perceive it). This is not really new. In my earliest conventioneering days, I noticed fans could not simply say "I like this" without adding a dozen qualifications. It was as if they thought they were being tested, and "wrong answers" would get them penalized. I am "controversial", of course -- an absurd word, in context -- and these pitiful pundits can grab themselves some quick brownie points by slinging some mud at me. I have even see "professionals" do it. Sad.
