I hope and don't think the printed comic will become extinct. There are some glimmers of light that still exist for me in comics. A sad day if it does. Wait, my Daredevil number one volume five will be worth more then!

Comics can absolutely still be a viable medium, they tell stories in a way that
is different than anything else. IF they will be saved is another thing but
there's always hope.

If you mean comics as sequential art, they are doing fine, whether they be webcomics or manga or the various titles marketed toward young readers through Scholastic. That stuff is more readily available than when I was a kid. It's superhero genre comics as a monthly periodical that is struggling, and I'm not convinced that there's any going back to that model.

Back to basics would be my suggestion. They need to examine their. characters/properties and figure out what makes them work and who they are. Boil it down to the essentials.

Once they figure that out focus on telling good stories with those characters and limited the characters to one book. Stop diluting the brand by spreading it thin.

Remember that continuity is a tool not the be all end all of story telling.

Don't go "off model"  to tell a story. If the plot doesn't fit the character, don't use that character.  Editors should know this and not greenlight such plot lines no matter how "cool" it might be.

Fire everyone at Marvel and cease printing. Hire editors that know how to guide and enforce character fidelity and develop new talent. Hire young talent that is looking for an entryway into cartooning. Let them take risks. Distribute through an app where the customer can buy ala carte (single issues), yearly subscriptions, or a whole universe yearly pass. Cross your fingers.
