Starlord would have made the top five had it been a series.

••

Yesterday I picked up a bag of Doritos with the movie version of Starlord on it. I almost quipped to the girl behind the counter that I had drawn his second comicbook appearance.

But, no, I thought. That way lies "the creepy old guy who was in my line today..."

(Altho perhaps not. I have noticed in recent years that when I walk down the street or around the grocery story, old ladies and pretty young women smile at me. I take this to mean I am officially harmless in their eyes.)

This is hard!!!  I had a similar experience to what JIm described aboive - I am surprised at how much I've been turning this one around in my thoughts.

UNCANNY X-MEN - My introdcution to JB was a significant landmark in my childhood reading.  The Dark Phoenix trade was always close by as a kid, and it remains a touchstone book.

FANTASTIC FOUR - Nothing short of Fantastic!

NEXT MEN - JB's richest work in both story and character.

DOOMSDAY.1 - a more recent titile that shows JB in full flight with his visual storytelling

STAR TREK: NEW VISIONS - hardest to choose among JB's Star Trek work, but this title wins based on the amazing stories.  Reading this feels like the days when JB's FANTASTIC FOUR was coming out each month.  The art is so groundbreaking that it is breaking ground I didn't even know was there!!

Cheers, Matt.

So my revised selection is:

Alpha Flight
Danger Unlimited
Next Men
Marvel: The Lost Generation
Triple Helix

I originally had OMAC in there and whilst it's a great series, I can't believe I forgot M:TLG, the series that I have probably read the most after AF and DU. I've always been a sucker for team books, particularly those that introduce characters that are new to me and M:TLG did this in spades. Great story telling too.

Edited a typo
