Nice try, Matt, but no matter how clearly and emphatically you word the directions, there will always be those who feel they must flout the rules.•• Remember when I used to do Art Challenges here? Take a commission piece, and challenge would-be artists to create the three or four pages in front of it, or behind it. Or take a single figure commission and create the scene in which in figure is set. Simple, right? Yet there were constantly people who broke even these simple rules -- and some got quite hostile when I called them on it. So I stopped the Art Challenges.

Fantastic Four Alpha Flight Next Men Generations Sensational She-Hulk
(My answer to Nelson's question regarding Captain America - unless JB is the writer and artist (or photomanipulater, I suppose), I simply don't think of a book as a "JB series". (I do allow for inkers and (occasionally) scripters.) If someone were to do a "best collaborations" thread, that would certainly be on my list.)

West Coast Avengers The Incredible Hulk Superman Wonder Woman Alpha Flight
A few notations ...
I feel a twinge of guilt that my list is all work that decades old; I doubt any creative type likes to see only their older works referenced. This is more a reflection on me than JB; I've barely touched comic books in the last twenty years. (And it's shocking to me to realize it's been that long!)
I've read very little of the two titles JB is often most associated with: X-MEN and FANTASTIC FOUR. The X-MEN run was a bit before my time and I've never been much of an X-fan anyway; I read FF intermittently, but I was a bigger DC fan at the time. I always mean to read both runs in their entirety, but somehow I never get around to it.
I surprise myself by including WONDER WOMAN. I was very harsh -- and vocal about it, on the old AOL board -- at the time, but it has steadily crept up on me through the years.

I do. It was a great idea that I was sorry to see take a bad turn.

"Left out...Josh Goldberg's pick of hand-drawn « Star Trek » I didn't know what to do with." *****
I respect your decision, Nelson. To me, everything from ROMULANS to LEONARD McCOY, FRONTIER DOCTOR feels like one big connected narrative (albeit, loosely). Especially with the recurrence of characters and plot elements. I also feel the same way about GENERATIONS 1, 2, & 3
JB, what do you say?

Sorry guys, I really consider Trio / Triple Helix / The Conclave as the same continuing series with interchanging title. But I'm probably wrong. New Gods / JK4W is another exemple.

With respect, The Conclave wasn't even a series.
I also have to say I enjoyed Triple Helix more than Trio. I felt the tone was quite different.

Gutted that I completely forgot a great series that nobody has else has for when making my choices which would have shaded out OMAC.
Won't say what it at the risk of being told off by Wallace ;) (with good reason).

The two series that have been mentioned that I have never read but suspect I would love are AWC and Doom Patrol. I hope to get the omnibus soon for the former but when will DC finally put out a collection of JB's Doom Patrol?

(I should mention that I still haven't read everything by JB; for example, FF are still awaiting me).

Is it strange to feel guilty after doing this?
