Last-minute Easter shopping at Target tonight... turned a corner and ran into this!
(Apologies if this was posted before, didn't see anything in similar threads.)

Man, wish we had a Target close to here. Also I hope JB is getting compensated for this.

I hope JB is getting compensated for this.•• Probably, tho it will likely be .00000005% of whatever Marvel gets. Still, can't complain. When I started in this Biz, they would have been more inclined look for ways to CHARGE me for the use!!

I've seen that one and other pictures at Wal-Mart, but they rarely seem to have that particular one in. Most of the time the only Captain America cover they have in is from issue #185.

On a related note, I was in Michael's yesterday (an arts-and-crafts store) and saw a DC Comics coloring books for adults which included, among other things, the cover of MOS #1 which featured Clark's open shirt showing the S-shield.
Sorry -- no pics -- had no cell phone with me.

The only thing that bugs me is the nonsensical scratched & "distressed" look of the piece... they bother to keep the artwork clear and crisp, the cover imagery in its original format (minus the blacked-out UPC box), and the colors are nice and bold. They even frame it!
...but yet they muck it up with all those scratches. What's the point? If it was a facsimile of an old, used, worn copy (with creases and tattered edges), that'd be one thing.
But this looks like it's been scraped with an ice pick!

I'm going to look for this this week as a birthday gift to myself. This was my first Byrne comic and Captain America is my favorite character. This issue is always special.

(For Brian, and anyone else on the lookout: This was in the home decor section, where you would find other framed art, clocks, bookshelves, etc. Probably a couple isles down from pillows, sheets & bedspreads.
Not sure if Target stocks differently by region, but I'm up in Northern Connecticut, so if you're a fellow New Englander, get out to your local Target pronto! Sadly, I wasn't able to pick one up for myself, but I think the price was somewhere in the $20 - $25 range.)

Not really a fan of that distressed look they gave it either, Shaun. Not sure what the point of that is. Huge fan of that cover though and would love to have a framed print of it on my wall.
Brian, are the ones you've seen at Walmart all scratched up like the one Shaun shared?

Sadly, all the cover pictures I've seen so far have that scratched up, distressed look, Shane.
They've had various pictures in at different times when I've checked. So far, I've seen two different Captain Americas (the one shown and the one I mentioned), two different Amazing Spider-Man covers, and an Incredible Hulk. But I'm pretty sure there are others.
I believe the Hulk cover was from issue #156. But I don't remember what issues the Spider-Man covers were from.

I've seen these at Meijer's, too. For those who don't have a Target near.
