-The X-Men are gone because Ike Perelmutter is mad at Fox. -The Inhumans are replacing the X-Men. -The FF is gone because Ike Perelmutter is mad at Fox ------------------------------------------------------ This was the case, but is no longer. Disney split Marvel Studios off from the rest of Marvel as separate divisions, and Perelmutter and Feige are feuding. So the print side is now cozying up with Fox again, working with them on the new Legion series for FX, for example. We also just had the first round of X-Men action figures released for several years, so they're loosening up on the licensing end. There are rumors about the return of the FF, bolstered by the Thing spending a recent issue of Guardians of the Galaxy reminiscing about the 'good old days' in a series of flashbacks.
Most importantly, though, Marvel has their ResurreXion event coming next spring where they're rebooting all the X-titles and expanding them. From the teasers, they're claiming they're trying to pull a Rebirth and roll back the clock to at least the 90's. But all the interviews with the creators involved are talking about the Claremont/Byrne era. Whether they'll succeed or not, I don't know, but they're at least saying the right things.
