Bill Collins - maybe you're thinking of the Kinks' "Catch Me Now I'm Falling". "Now I'm calling to all people from all over the world/
This is Captain America calling"

I love finding new (to me) songs about superheroes and comics characters. Thanks guys! The Captain America songs by both The Kinks and Magnum I had never heard before. The Magnum one is especially cool for a comics fan as it is definitely referring to the actual character, and not using the name just as a metaphor, or the like

Edit to note: Oh, and looking up info on Magnum, I see they also did a song about Elric. Not technically a comic book character, but still nifty!

I was going to mention Superman by Five For Fighting, but it's in the list from that last link.

Seems  a bit off to include Iron Man by Black Sabbath when it is expressly NOT about Marvel's Iron Man as the article even acknowledges.

Then there is is this weird thing by Icarus: LINK

I was familiar with Rollins Band's "Ghost Rider" from
the sound track from THE CROW, but didn't realize (or
forgot) that it was a cover.
