Goblin flies towards Spider-Man. Spider-Man swings fist in downward arc. Is it possible that the angle throws the incoming Goblin upward?I say yes, depending on what angle the goblin comes in at and how the contact is made with Spider-Man's fist. Surely it's as much an issue of the angle of the contact between Spider-Man and the Goblin as it is of the swing-plane of the fist? •• Nope. Consider this: The top image is as Gil drew the punch, rotated so that our view is at right angles to Spider-Man's swing. The second image is the result that swing/punch would actually produce. Problem is, the Goblin Flyer and its trail show us that Spider-Man and the Goblin are in a straight line with each other. If the Goblin was coming in at an angle, it might be possible to say Spider-Man's punch was throwing him back and to the side, which could create the image seen. But, no such luck. Like I sad, I've made this mistake myself (as have plenty of others), so I know whereof I speak.
