Neil Gaiman's Death and Kirby's Orion in a tragic romance.
********** That's not one from Marvel and one from DC, tho.

Great topic. I'd go for:
(1) Hawkeye and Captain Boomerang (2) Egghead and the Joker

My first thought before reading the thread was Captain America and Wonder Woman. WWII then and now. But for another, the Atom and She-Hulk.

She-Hulk and Harley Quinn (Jen is hired to defend Harley for a crime that Harley actually is innocent of - they need to find the real culprit).
Hawkeye and Zatanna (no story idea...I just like both characters).

Spider-Man and the Creeper please!
And I'd also like to see the Phantom Stranger and Dr. Strange.

A good idea, Eric - and I understand why - but I'm not sure two magical characters wouldn't come across as mutually exclusive. I'd rather both men teamed with someone non-magical for the contrast.
