How many other such collections have featured an author's byline on the cover, but included work not by that author? Not being paranoid, here. Just curious.

#NeverGiveThePeopleWhatTheyThinkTheyWant•• Amazing how the alteration of a single word can change meaning so radically. When Stan Lee said unto me "Never give the fans what they think they want" he was cautioning against creating an environment in which said fans would quickly become ennui-engorged and bored. There are countless instances in which "the people" should be given what they think they want!

I was wondering something similar.
I would have been happier with a collection of JB only work. I read the original run way back when unaware of the other appearances - X-Men included - and my reading pleasure was maintained.
(Indeed, I recall the characters and set-ups were so layered I recall being surprised when I later realised how little had been previously established.)

JB, first one I checked was Roger Stern's Spider-Man Omnibus and that has non-Uncle Rog stories in with it.

(Indeed, I recall the characters and set-ups were so layered I recall being surprised when I later realised how little had been previously established.)•• One of my (sometimes frustrating) mutant powers is creating backstories for even the most minor characters. One whole storyline in NEXT MEN sprang from introducing a character (Sandy) who was intended to appear in only a few panels/pages, but who took hold of the plot as her backstory blossomed in my brain! (Also, THANKS!!)

Taking a closer look, two more quibbles (not connected to the omnibus, but about some of the collection):
Why was Aurora's second costume consistently coloured incorrectly - specifically, the covers to AF 21 and 22 and the whole first issue of X-Men / AF team-up, The Gift? I'm almost wondering if this was originally the correct colouring and it was changed in AF 20 at the last minute.
And while I'm on The Gift, this two-part story actually fails to fit anywhere within the AF run. The Aurora / Northstar relationship here is at odds with anything going on in AF at that time. It simply doesn't fit.

Did any Alpha Flight writer after JB ever put Judd and Heather together? (Do I think of Puck as Judd because that's what other characters in the book called him or do I have some odd aversion to using the name Eugene?)

Sometime after JB's run, Puck was "discovered" to have been a tall adventurer who ended up the living cage of a demon which...resulted in his becoming a dwarf. That might have been around the time E.M. Judd and Heather McNeil Hudson got, er, better acquainted. Hopefully that entire bit of backstory has been erased, 'cause it sure didn't do anybody any favors.

I know that Sasquatch is a part of the Marvel Captain Marvel's story now. How did Walter Langowski get that body back?

Skrulls took the place of Alpha Flight when they were all sucked into that portal that the Hulk was pulled out of by Box. The real Alpha was never seen or heard from again.
Right??
Right.
