Yeah that AF #12 was a powerful scene. Mac would have made too, if Heather hadn't distracted him. Making it that much more impactful.

This is too hard for me for two reasons:

  • There's just SOOOOOO many.
  • Then there's the dichotomy of the "big" scenes versus the subtle ones. Both resonate equally, but for different reasons.

  • But if I have to pick one, it's the double-page splash of the FF looking over a battle-torn Doomstadt. My first impression of JB's work and the most lasting, for me.

I always liked this double page spread from FF #259...

This one is probably in my top 5 for sure.

    Paraphrasing.

The sequence where Hawkeye shoots out training drones while being whipped around on a moving platform. This is West Coast Avengers #42 (I think).

That two page spread from FF #259 is amazing. I love the sound effects panel boarders at the bottom. This reminds of another gift of John Byrne art wise-the way he depicts action. You really get a sense that the Thing was hit hard by Terrax in that bottom panel. There's a real sense of movement and it's not just in the speed lines. So many artists these days are terrible at depicting action and story and just do scene after scene of superheroes in superhero poses looking "cool".

Too many choices- but my all time fav is the cover to FF 260- esp Sue reaching for Dooms Mask.

You'd probably have liked it better before Shooter stepped on it.
