I have found myself at a loss, over the years, to identify
a single first issue that I remember reading. Of course,
that was in trying to recall a DC or Marvel book. This
week, I was struck by the fact that my first comic read was
likely a Casper, Little Lulu, Dot, Spooky (a fave) comic,
published by Harvey. This would have been in the very early
1970's. I graduated to DC comics with a few Gold Key horror
comics. Once I'd experienced Marvel, I was stuck for good
on that company's characters as a fave.

"I was raised Marvel as a kid (72-78) but then
migrated to DC when I got back into comics in 1984 as
an adult. I have not heard of anyone else who has
taken that path."

I was definitely a "both"-er as a kid - put a
superhero on the cover, and I'm there. Batman,
Superman, Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Avengers,
Defenders, Justice League...loved 'em all. Like you
though, it was all DC that got me back into it in the
80s, specifically the one-two punch of the
Wolfman/Perez Titans, and the Levitz/Giffen Legion. I
quickly branched out into a bunch of the Marvel
product, but it was those two books that got me back.

Brad Teschner - hey, if you got Johnny Romita to draw the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents, you could have called me a Tower Comics guy all along! Nice piece!

Not mine...found it on the inter-nets. Really love it, though...captures the spirit
of TRU-MARVEL!

I loved both and always bought both. I even started
collecting because of G. I. Joe, but it all started with
Batman '66 and Super Friends, so the answer for me - is
DC

Comics, that is!

I forgot about The Adventures of Superman. That was a TV staple in my young life, too...

So...with that, Batman, and Super Friends...I guess I was mostly a DC guy to start.

But Spider-Man (after watching his 60's cartoon concurrently with all of the above) got me to start reading comics...then the Hulk, and so on...
