You were a hard act to follow, and I knew SOMEthing was different when Paul Smith drew Wolverine, but, having just recently re-read his run in Essential B&W, I'll take his version if I can't have Byrne, followed closely by Alan Davis. Smith at least tried to draw Wolverine as a short guy, whereas Davis just draws anatomy too damn pretty, and his Wolverine was a bit more stretched thin and wiry. Just my opinion, people...please refrain from calling my parents after 8pm to complain.

There was something creepy about Steve Ditko's Dormammu that I've never seen another artist match.
Similarly, a lot of artists have done a great Red Skull, but I don't think anyone nailed the evil of the character better than Kirby in the 60s.

The trick with this topic is that John Byrne and Neal Adams' versions of characters are always awesome and they have both drawn almost ALL major characters! So, you might have to make an addendum: "Aside from Byrne and Adams' versions, name a character that only one (other) artist gets right!" (And if you throw in Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez and George Perez, that covers almost everybody!)
I will agree with some above comments though--I've never seen any version of ALPHA FLIGHT that I liked, besides JB's. Likewise, Only Perez's NEW TEEN TITANS really worked for me, especially Nightwing, Starfire, and Raven. Also, nobody's ever done THE CREEPER with just the right everything since Ditko.

I agree, I've never seen ALPHA FLIGHT done well after JB left, and the same for when George Perez left NEW TEEN TITANS. Starfire, Wonder Girl and Raven... Snowbird, Sasquatch and Puck... just haven't worked as the same characters originally conceived.

Snowbird, Sasquatch and Puck...
* * *
Puck is a funny one. He shouldn't be so difficult to get right and, yet, proportionally nearly every artist seems to have problems with him. They either make him look too small or simply not small enough.

Joe Kubet's style was perfect the raw wildness that is Tarzan.

Looking at the latest IRON FIST commission by JB, I totally forgot that, in my opinion, nobody comes close to drawing Danny Rand as well as JB has.
