I look at that and my first thought is "Byrne nose"!

••

Curiously enough, I showed the finished pages to a friend yesterday, and she said I was NOT drawing my usual noses!

"Eyes, what are you doing over there?"

"Oh, just some beholding."

+++++++

Hmm, now that I think about it, that would make a cool title for a JB advice column.

••

Flashing back now to a strip in EAGLE, where a pair of amateur sleuths are following a bad guy, using their pet boxer to track. "Okay, Rocky," says one to the dog, "let's see how much your nose knows."

At the ripe old age of 11, I thought that was brilliant.

I'm away for a week and there's already a new project in the works. This looks gorgeous!  What a ton of fun this must be, stretching different aspects of your storytelling brain and modifying others for the specific project.

Tell her to check out that left nostril. It's clearly
vintage JB.

Matt said, "I'm away for a week..." Vegas?

Loving the sneak peeks on the book, JB. I keep eyeing new pencils or markers for the kids.

HA!

Neither.  My brother was in town.  Busy morning 'til night with a trip to San Diego thrown in for good measure.

I have a question for Chris from IDW...

What paper will it be printed on? I would like to know
if watercolors will be OK for it... or just the color
pencils...

Chris answered that up thread some;

...

Chris> "And what kind of paper? For those in the know of various paper stocks, it'd be 180gsm -- a nice, uncoated, heavy stock."

That sliver reminds me of the old 70's psychedelic posters to color. So dense with little tiny elements to pop out with color. DoodleArt?

Wow! My colored pencils are going to have to stay sharpened to a fine point!

My daughter is 11 and we haven't colored together in
years. May have to change that. This looks awesome.
