Mexican version of Spectacular Spider-Man 101…

••

Don't be too hard on them, Gustavo. Even tho my cover was pitched and designed for black and white, I still had to fight some people at Marvel to keep it that way!

(Sure am glad I've learned how to draw buildings at night since I did that piece!!)

I came across this page online:

The size I've posted doesn't do it justice, but what a cool little sequence. I've never read the issue, but just these few panels makes me want to read more. Spidey in a sling giving chase. Just that final panel has so much energy and movement suggested by a static image... It's a kind of magic!

I'll have to ask someone who read "modern comics"
I only bought these avengers issues because of John's art. I did not care for the stories before that (and after)

That page was from WIZARD magazine.

I see this one as a kind of tribute to the King
This page is from one of my favorite work from Jack Kirby, and the one after that is a page from John's rather recent run on Captain America

I love doing scenes like that. The challenge of posing and dressing each figure as an INDIVIDUAL is such great fun!

Great pages, Philippe. I remember when, picking those issues of Amazing and Avengers, I suddenly felt at home!
