my only excuse
Perfect. The fact that you need an excuse, any excuse, is proof that you cannot draw better than JRJr. Perhaps you should think before making such bold claims in the future.
since i've been called out twice now, ill post what i have.
Thank you for stepping up. A side note: if this is The Flash, he'd better pick his head up and look where he's going.
i was hoping for a week to do something up.
Take a week. I'd love to see the results.

Robert Ingrao's drawing (more of a sketch, really) in his post above isn't bad, but it also still has an amateurish quality to it. I assume it's the Flash? I am wondering why the character is looking downward? Pretty good anatomy, overall.
That noted, John Romina Jr's art is not only professional, it's crazy to me that a detractors could argue that even if one isn't a fan of his work, but it has a quality that stands out. It is a unique style that has influenced as varied talented artists as Jae Lee and Greg Capullo. Look at the early work of those two artists and if you have an eye for such things you will see the JRJR influence. Of course, both artists eventually developed their own distinctive styles.
Art is subjective, but love or hate the work of JRJR, I don't think anyone can legitimately claim his art is not at least professional.

Looking at his art in context with his comments about JR, one word comes immediately to mind: delusional.

Just that little image on my PC monitor looks super exciting. There's real weight and power to it.

Kirby springs to mind often when I look at JRJr's work, even though they are quite different too.
