And checking out the stars is more relatable to a Star Trek convention than casinos!•• I won't be wandering too far into the casinos. I might do what I did one evening in New Orleans, where I walked into Bally's with $100 and a resolution to play only until it was gone. I was in there for about four hours, playing my own money and the casino's, back and forth. I was down to a single dollar when I decided to leave, and plopped that into a slot machine by the door. Ka-CHING! It paid me a $100 jackpot. THAT'S the way to do it!

If you've got a camera that will do long exposures you can get some great photos of a starry sky. The picture below was taken in the Maldives. It was a 15 second exposure with everything else set to auto. With a bit more experimenting I think I could have got better results but I'm quite pleased with it anyway.

Just seen your appearance this week mentioned in some news sites. Not that we doubted it but you're still an attraction JB even if...sadly, it's dragging out a few "Bad Byrne" convention stories from some saddoes with it.

Of course. And it will generate more. And they will all be equally true -- which is to say not at all

I took a look at a few of the other sites reporting my upcoming appearance, and the Comments are truly disappointing. People who can only report negative experiences that are flat out lies. People who report positive experiences but qualify them with "Guess I was lucky."People, if you define yourselves by the "bad Byrne experience" you've had, you are beyond pathetic. I pity you.

I felt very lucky when I met you. I had 2 stacks (one each day) of the maximum number of books you would sign and you signed them all. Not only that, you were a very gracious "host" and we had a blast talking to you. AND, you gave me two free books, the ALIEN one-shot and your first issue of WONDER WOMAN.
The only person(s) that would even compare to how nice you were would be Walt and Weezie. My favorite two convention experiences, by far. ( I guess you would edge Walt out by a smudge. He didn't give me any books... ;) )

Leaving for Gen Con tomorrow, does that count? Besides gaming there are lots of artists and writers. Hmm a few in comics too.

JB, one thing I considered is since your last convention things have changed. These days pretty much everything is filmed or photographed on people's phones. If I see one Bad Byrne story this time around and there's no proof, then it didn't happen.
PS. I don't expect a single one

Back in the day there were invariably idiots who tried to force their very own "Big Bad Byrne" stories. Now that such "incidents" can be recorded, I won't be surprised if their number has increased. Ah, well! Smile, smile, smile....
