Anything marvel can do,dc feel they can do better. Not interested in a reboot,a rebirth,a rebranding or even a re-bathing. I do find it interesting that the article refers to Clay Mann as a veteren of 10 years in the business, and yet dc wanna refer to him as a rising star. I know for some artists it can take a while for that big break.but this just seems like pedantry to me.

When geoff johns describes the opening of the story as 'i love this world..but there's something missing..', my thought was 'you wanna know what i think is missing from dc...their integrity, to actually feed us this crap!'

It's a bit surprising that they are picking up the numbering of Action Comics and Detective Comics at 957 and 934.

Less surprising, more akin to stupidity i'd have thought, marc cheek. It just confuses people and alienates others. What fan,who hasn't say followed DC for say 5 years, and suddenly goes to their store and think "Oh Detective Comics #934! Now to try and find #933" only to find it doesn't exist. It's a gimmick, nothing more, nothing less.

No surprise to me about the slip to the original numbering...just think of the media promotion of those #1000 issues! The $2.99 price drop just confirms they were charging what they thought the market would stand.

Wake me up when they just concern themselves with telling entertaining stories with interesting characters.

Every time they reboot or rebrand, they basically say 'whatever we did last time was stupid so we're going back to what we had before the change so it'll be great'.

Roy Johnson : In their own conceit, they believe that what they are doing is telling entertaining stories with interesting characters. Even when sales reflect the opposite, they would think that the problem lies with us.

If DC ever does a real reboot -- one which scrapes away all of the crappy accumulation -- I might give it a shot.  But when there's still, for example, a multitude of Robins and Earth Green Lanterns all simultaneously active, it's not a reboot it's just a new veneer on the same old crap.

Giving the fans what they've been demanding.

Well, the few remaining ones left, I guess.

I wonder how far beyond issue #1000 Action Comics and Detective Comics will get before they get new #1 issues.
