They probably don't order them.

A degree of nose-cutting and face-spiting involved, too, tho.

Who needs a nose? As I don't need to remind you, JB, as long as they are right about your stuff not selling, they don't care. The true businessmen will order these volumes because they realize there is a buck to be made. The pinheads who have some fantastical need to "get back at you" see it as a way to spite you/ your reputation. Even if they can make money, they must fulfill the prophecy.

Crazy thing is, this kind of thing doesn't hurt me at all. Reprints pay royalties, but that's free money. If I don't make $100 in reprint royalties, it's not the same as if I lost $100.

Unfortunately, the idjits can't see that, because they really have trained their tiny brains to think just that way -- to them a dollar not earned is a dollar lost. They think if they see two $20 bills blowing down the street and are able to catch only one they are OUT $20.

This drives WAY too much of the thinking in the DSM.

I wonder how all those retailers who maintain that my stuff "doesn't sell" make out with these very expensive books.

------------------------------------------------------------ -------

I wonder how many people still use 'shops'. Most people on the Collected Editions use the on-line options of Amazon, Tales of Wonder etc. Never have to worry about the whims of retailers that way.

And as I pointed out on there the other day, Marvel Collection editors clearly do know their audience - us aging old comic fans love the Byrne :)

I only buy from Tales of Wonder and Amazon, the only problem is stuff can go out of stock quickly if you don't pre-order.
