I think this started way way back with Stan Lee's writing. An awful lot of Marvel's heroes in the 1960s had smart alek dialogue as they taunted the villains they were fighting. It worked well for Spider-man, and so it extended to Daredevil, Cap, Iron Man, the Human Torch, The Thing, etc.---------------------------------- Though the Thing became something of a smart alec, which was a major departure from how he began, I don't think Stan ever had him sounding like Spider-Man.
When I think of one of the more distinctive 'voices' in comics, my thoughts quickly go to the everlovin' blue-eyed Thing and his remarks about Aunt Petunia, the Yangtze Street Gang, Big Brain, Stretch and so on.
