Fortress of Byrneitude!
This is off-topic but... does anyone else remember when the Joker had a
headquarters called the Ha-Ha-cienda?

In fact! And everytime I see a Hacienda st (of which there are tons down here) I always mumble that to myself.

Looks delightfully post-modern and lushly green. The landscaping is attractive, but I don't see you pushing a lawnmower over those slopes! Good thing you've got three monthlies, so you can afford those pricey lawncare fees. Happy trails, JB!

May I humbly suggest the Byrneplex?
I've long suspected messiness is a sign of genius. Nice to have that suspicion confirmed.

Gregg, many suspect that.
Which is just further proof that I am an absolute genius.

Is this why you were using Mapquest, JB; To find your new home? ***** To find out where my friends are, relative to the new place. One turned out to be barely 2 miles away, as the crow flies!

Very cool looking home - I am a big fan of modernist
architecture/furniture (mid-20th centruy, mostly, without most of
the kitsch) and that house looks like a dream home to me. My
wife and I'll be looking or something similar in the next few
years, unless we build it ourselves.
Good luck!
-Mark

The thing I hate worst about moving is the amount of stuff you've accumulated since your last move. Since leaving the home nest at age 19 in 1991, I've moved nine times. I finally bought my first home in 1996, which at the time was spacious enough for my bachelorness at the time. I moved again about this time last year, and the old house was full to the brim. Luckily, since I wasn't selling it, there was no pressure to get all of my stuff out at once, so it took me the next eight months to get everything moved.
Next time, I'm hiring movers...

Moving is really hard. It's emotionally jarring and logistically difficult. I moved so many times as a kid and through my 20's that I have a blanket rule in life - if I hear someone is moving I automatically offer to help with the move. For close friends not employing a moving company, I insist on it. I feel great after it as you get a physical workout along with the great vibe of helping someone out. And I inevitably wind up with a lot of free junk they don't want - I have some great furniture I never bought!
That looks like a great place, JB. I like the previously mentioned "Fortress of Byrnetude". It's similar to what I call my crowded, cluttered place - "The Fortress of Slopitude"
