Are you 100% sure you've never had a vat of chemicals fall on you in a lightning storm?

With computers in practically everyone's homes now, shouldn't
typing classes be required, maybe even as early as late grade
school?

Now its a computer class, not typing. I learned oral dictation, speed, different types of letters, memos, etc. Can't remember the name of the class my brother took ( he's 14 years younger in the same high school) but its more geared towards computer programming and language. I feel old, the classes I took are gone, the typing class I had just stopped using manual typewriters. They had used both eletric and manual, so in case you ever had to use a manual you would be familar.

Latest Update
Looking more and more like the move is going to occur sometime over the last week of July and the first week of August. Since there is some down time between my vacating this house and taking up residence in the new one, I will probably find myself in a hotel for three or four days. Possibly as much as a week. During that time I won't have much in the way of internet access, of course, and the JBF will be shut down. So start stocking up on methadone now...

Hey, you picked a great time for the forum to be out of service, JB. School starts back up (down here) right about the time of your impending move. With all of the headaches associated with three kids going back to school, the return of you and the forum - after your move - will be like a breath of fresh air.
Good luck with the move. Conscript alot of help and protect your back and knees between now and then.
One question: After you successfully make the transition to your new residence do you plan on "treating" yourself to anything?

Maybe one of these:
Seriously, tho, I have made the first "official" purchase for the new house. One of the small regrets I have about leaving Stately Byrne Manor is that I have spoken often of how amazing it is to me that people sat in my current living room and read in the newspaper about Lincoln being elected, and the first Bull Run, and Gettysburg, and Appomatox, and Lincoln's assasination -- as well as the Wright brothers, the First World War, Lindbergh's flight, the stock market crash, the Second World War --- and a whole lot of other stuff, while they sat in the living room of my new house and read about --- Ronald Reagan being elected to his second term! So, coming across it in a catalog the other day, I ordered a small brass plaque to mount outside my new front door. It reads:
On this site in 1897, nothing happened.

Even though I know what the answer will be....
This is a good chance to come to Chicago for the Con then.
Ok, now the beatings will begin.....
On a more serious note: Good luck with the move. Believe me, I do not envy you. Nothing is more exciting or more stressful than moving, imo.

Right in the middle of a move? Yes -- a nervous
breakdown would give me some much needed time
off. . .

JB, while you are between houses may I recommend you this Hotel? Sure it's a bit far from your place ( a few thousand miles actually) but you get to visit a great city like Buenos Aires. :)
