It's instinctive -- but that's not what's happening, here. The "disk" is actually kidney shaped.

Ah! I've always thought of it as bent, or dented.

A great angle and lots of dynamic. Congrats to JB and to the lucky commissioner.

JB, how do you do the webs on Spider-Man's suit? Are you using some tool to get those so perfect?

JB: "fill in" the missing weblines on Spider-Man's costume
Just you wait and see the enterprising young go-getter that fills in the border behind Spider-Man that you obviously forgot! /sarcasm off I certainly wouldn't put something like that beyond the armchair comic artist community.

I have seen so-called PROFESSIONALS do things like that. "Drawing with color" I call it. Adding borders, horizon lines, edges of all kinds -- usually in the wrong place! Walt Simonson tells of a piece he did that featured heavy shadows, and the colorist "lit" it from the shadowed side!!

Outstanding! I can only reiterate what's been said already - no one does Dr. Doom like JB.

<<I showed robots dressing Doom, for instance. >>
When you wrote that, I immediately remembered that scene. So cool. I really need to go break out my FF collection starting with 232. It's been a while and it's one of my all time favorite runs by anyone anytime!
