Incredible! Nothing, but love for this piece.   Great WW, but you're Cap is always a treat.

Outstanding commission. Always brings a smile to my face anytime JB gets to draw Captain America.

As it brings a smile to my face to hear anyone say that. I mean, come on! CAPTAIN AMERICA! If I could hop in my time machine and pay a visit on that kid who picked up AVENGERS 4, new off the stands, and read it a hundred times in wide-eyed wonderment. . .

Well, imagine being able to tell him his name would one day be associated with Cap. I doesn't get much better!!

JB, were you familiar with Captain America to any degree before you read Avengers 4?

Let me tell you a story!

When I read AVENGERS 4 for the first time, I could not shake the feeling that I knew Captain America. The uniform based on the American flag, and wearing that outfit under a military uniform. All so, so familiar.

Only years later did I realize those haunting images came from my having read a single adventure in "The Double Life of Private Strong,"one of Simon & Kirby's imitation Captain America characters.

Sometimes I think Captain America is the most extraordinary superhero ever created. A character with no actual super powers, without any obvious flash, without an in-your-face style, not patently grim or gritty, not patently jocular or jeering, not flamboyant, no short-fuse, no violent streak, no assortment of complex gadgetry, no weapon but a classic(al) shield, and never ever mugging for attention -- and yet you place him among a large group superheroes who are god-like or even actual gods, and HE is the one who stands out, HE is the one who commands, HE is the one you ultimately count on. Amazing...
