Matt and I visited JB this past August and were discussing our next commission. I knew JB had the "Dinosaur Stampede" X-Men illustration in the back of his mind for several years and Matt loves dinosaurs, so this seemed like a perfect choice for a commission!
We gave JB total Carte Blanche and the finished illustration blows away any vision I had in my mind of how it would look! I had the pleasure of seeing this beauty in progress (and nearly completed) this past Saturday when several friends and I visited JB. I spent a good deal of time marveling at the details and can't wait to see the finished version when Matt and I make our next trip to JB's to pick up the original.
I was planning on waiting until our visit before letting Matt see the completed commission, but today is his 16th birthday! JB's timing in the posting this piece was so perfect, I think I will let Matt see it in advance!!
As always, many thanks to JB for the wonderful artwork!!!

WOW!!!!! What an amazing commission!!!! JB, you not only hit this out of the ball park, but out of this world!!
In an alternate reality, JB would've started this memorable run on X-MEN with his artistic skill at THIS LEVEL!!!

Congrats to Jim and Matt.
Happy Birthday, Matt.
This looks wonderful.
As much as I enjoy seeing the X-Men nothing makes me more happier to see the original team by JB. They are my favorite.
Love the dinosaurs all around especially those near Wolverine.

What an amazing piece! The best Angel and Kitty I've ever seen and I absolutely love the look on Hank's face. And while I normally prefer JB's stuff in B&W, I'd actually be interested in seeing this one in color. Something about it just seems to lend itself to color. Best birthday gift ever! Enjoy, Matt.
