Probably not. Most of the pivotal events of the series involved some Marvel character or another, so, at the very least, there'd have to be some "character conversions."
In general, the problem with Rom is that, as I understand it, the only thing that Hasbro brought to the table was Rom himself. Everything else - the other SpaceKnights, Galador, the Dire Wraiths, etc. - was created for the comic series.

Bug was my favorite Micronaught. He's a Marvel creation. Without him, the team doesn't feel right to me. On the ROM side, I could see checking out his series if the replacements IDW creates to battle him are on par with the Wraiths.

If they could reprint the original Golden run of Micronauts and the entire run of ROM I would quickly buy those in a nice HC or trade editions. Getting that permission from Marvel would be the hard part.
New material would not be as interesting. I would assume ROM would be a complete reboot. No Dire Wraiths or Rick Jones allowed. I would buy a new ROM book out of curiosity. Micronauts, no. (I only enjoyed the Golden art, nothing else.)

What Paul said. Except I wouldn't buy collections. I tracked down all the back issues a few years ago and am content with that.

I'll buy Micronauts. I think that could be really cool.

I am a big fan of the Micronauts but without the Marvel characters it would not be the same. The other versions were not as good! Rom the only thing from that series that I have are the JB covers. So do not know much about Rom.

As a kid I gravitated towards three titles : X-Men, ROM and Micronauts. That's "my" Marvel, as strange it may seem. So yup, shaddup and take my money, IDW!

In the case of ROM I did not care for the character design.
***
In that respect, wasn't ROM rather a rip-off of the Cylons in "Battlestar Galactica"?
I was already too old for toys when this stuff came out, but -- although I didn't read the series -- what I saw of Michael Golden's "Micronauts" art I really liked.

…what I saw of Michael Golden's "Micronauts" art I really liked.•• Chris and I were riding the wave of X-MEN fandom, seemingly unstoppable. Then along came Michael and Bill Mantlo on MICRONAUTS, and blew us out of the water. At least for a while! On the strength of Michael's art, it was easy to see why -- but Chris and I could not help but look on in a degree of amazement as everyone went wild for MICRONAUTS. "But it's a TOY book!!!"

I did notice back too one X-Men connection -- the distinctive lettering of Tom Orzechowski.
(So sad about Bill Mantlo, in so many ways. Really good writer, even better man.)

Those first twelve issues of Micronauts were brilliant.
