Aunt Petunia was killed off during Millar's FF run by Doom's secret mentor.

Well, at least we can draw comfort from the fact that NuMarvel is so dependable.

Secret mentor? Why would Doom have need of a secret mentor? He's Doom!

And from what I've heard....the secret mentor could NOT have been any lamer.

Anyway...I LOVED what JB did with Aunt Petunia...and think it was perfectly in the spirit of Lee and Kirby.

The wreck con that is the wreck con to end all wreck cons for me (even trumping Charles Xavier forming a secret team of X-Men) is that Tony Stark is adopted! And the real son is Arno Stark, the guy from the future! Who must now be the guy from the present as we have caught up to 2020.

Does anyone writing at Marvel actually understand 'timeless'?

Everything, it seems, has to be played to the tune of, "it didn't really happen they way you thought it did." Everything must have some sort of shock value to it. And that's a ploy I've long grown tired of.

Whether you personally liked or didn't like the Aunt Petunia reveal, it was itself just a little tiny thing, and, it was truly as harmless as a baby's smile compared to what so many others did... and apparently continue to do!

... maybe a thread drift (but not worth a new topic) ...

JB, what if in a "perfect" world, you were to return to FF at a time that the following people were at their "peaks", would you prefer
a) Stan Lee scripts with your art, or
b) your scripts with Jack Kirby art

what would everyone prefer Lee/Byrne or Byrne/Kirby ?

Tony Stark is adopted?  What????  I haven't been following Iron Man for eons (outside of Avenger's appearances, and even then, it's hard to keep track)....

Amazing how much he looks like his "adopted" father, Howard, though.  Maybe Tony's a clone of his Dad....

My Brain hurts.

Artistically speaking, the way JB drew that figure is excellent because he's able to indicate the SWAY of the hips through the position of shouldersand hands.
And that was thirty years ago, and he's only gotten better!

Get ready for the comments that Byrne was too lazy to draw complete figures in the background of that panel so he just did silhouettes.
