Was Colossus in his late teens when he joined the X-Men?

***********

Seems like I remember GSXM 1 mentioning he was 19.

It was a running thing with Colossus in the X-Men during the 70s and 80s that while he was strong, he was still yet young, and he would eventually grow into his full strength.

I remember Peter being either 18 or 19. He should have remained forever
that age so that the growing into his full strength never occurred.

Yeah, but as soon as they mention that he wasn't at his fullest potential due to his age, it was inevitable that we'd see "fully grown" Colossus at some point. Or we would have been inundated with "adult Colossus from the future" all the time.

For some reason I had Peter pegged as being 17. Not sure whether that was based on anything solid though, looking back...
