Many thanks for all the kind words!
You're very right about the color gradation, Greg. The tricky part about lycra is that when the material is stretched, the colors become diluted, which is why I knew I had to use markers to darken the webs or else they would be barely visible. I may check into dying the suit later on to improve the red and blue colors. They only look faded when I make an unusual stretch, though that's typically what's required when doing a Spider-Man pose!
In the picture below, you can see that the color is less faded since the fabric is under less stress:
Here's another, unmasked! Shh...

And nice work *wearing* the costume. It can be a bit unforgiving!

Oh, it wasn't a criticism! It's just a feature I wouldn't expect on a "real" Spider-Man costume, of course. I just like to fantasize about a truly accurate comic-based costume that looks great in real life--if such a thing is possible. The movies have come pretty close. By my personal standard, I'd say about 85%. As noted, certain little things about the movie costumes annoy me.
I definitely think the look of your costume's mask is superior to any of the movie suits.
For a $600 outfit based on a pattern made by a RPFer (as opposed to one of the uber-pricey movie costumes), I think you really got more than your money's worth! Looks great.

Thanks and definitely!
In its present form, the suit is a little trickier to get in and out of than I intended; there's no mask zipper and the only way out of it is a long back zipper that goes from the top of my neck to my waist. Once I have some time and a little more money, I want to see about getting the zips re-done in the back. A mask zip would at least allow me to eat and drink while wearing the suit!
Greg - Didn't read your thoughts as criticism at all! And I agree with you about the film suits; the "raised webs" always felt a bit off to me, as well as the eyes (though the eyes on the recent suit from ASM2 come pretty close). Knowing what a huge Spider-Man fan you are, your compliments on my costume mean a lot! :)
Two last pics I'd like to share (feel free to message me if you'd like to see more): My brother (and fellow JBF member Keith) and I, ready to fight crime.
Finally, a friend of mine decided to do a little Photoshopping...

No worries!
And, knowing what a huge Spider-Man fan you are, I can imagine how much fun it must be for you to run around in that suit!
