Nerdist has posted an interesting interview with Len Wein and Chris Claremont. They discuss the old days at Marvel, Marvel Team-Up, and the creation of the 'All-New X-Men'.

Thanks for sharing!
The most interesting part of the interview for me is when Chris Claremont comments on how Marvel has a policy these days where no new characters are to be created for the X-titles so Marvel does not give any more characters to Fox films. And, also, as an extension of this, how Marvel is not merchandising X-Men to keep Fox from making more money from the properties.
I have heard something of this before, but hearing it come straight from someone in a position to know adds some weight to it.

Matt, makes one wonder if the rumors are true about the X-titles all being canceled early next year.

Wow. A bad movie deal kills titles that used to be at the forefront of Marvel? I never imagined that happening.

Question is how can title survive with that kind of restriction, because that wouldn't just limit the creation of new heroes, but also new villains.
Wonder if FF and Spider-man has the same restriction?

I can't see why Marvel would have a no new X-characters policy when creators generally save all new characters for their own side projects anyway.

I've heard that Marvel has a good working relationship with Sony, so Spider-Man is fine. The X-Men and FF with Fox....not so much, obviously.

Question is how can title survive with that kind of restriction...••• Given the X-Men's rogues gallery, how great a "restriction" is it? Not being able to create new characters might be a hardship for a book that only has a couple of years behind it, but X-MEN?
