Pretty cool to read Terry's comment at the top of the Starlord page...it's kinda like having the original studio tape of the Beatles first song!

Love it when John draws Red Sonja!

That MTU 79 has been a favorite of mine since it came out.

Nice Mary Jane/Red Sonja by way of Steve Ditko!

That sketch is dated 1977. The MTU issue featuring MJ as Sonja was from 1979. Thinking about this sketch in conjunction with the Margali & Jimaine designs makes me wonder how many story ideas are born out of the sketches drawn on the backs of pages turned in by the artists...

Nice, Steve!  While looking for the original source of that pic (I always try to find the largest image possible to include in the gallery), I found this version....

Now that I think about it, did Steve Ditko ever draw Mary Jane Watson?

Looking at that Puck makes me think of how Peter Dinklage would make a great Puck. And, no, not just because the actor is a dwarf, but I think he has a look that is a close enough resemblance. Knowing how Hollywood thinks, though, they'd probably just use an average-sized actor and shrink him down with CGI.

Thanks again to everybody for posting these pictures!

He did, but not her face, as these panels from ASM #25 show.

Despite Peter's reservations in later issues, the reader was left in no doubt that Mary Jane was a stunner.

It's my understanding that Ditko intended to keep MJ's face hidden.

AWESOME Alpha Flight poster.... JB, seems Guardian was added later to the artwork. Remember why he wasn't part of the original layout?
