I try to make each project in some fashion DIFFERENT from what I've done before. I have no real control over whether they will be BETTER -- but I can HOPE!
----

That seems genuinely sensible. Each project is it's own beast, forged in it's own fire.

I was a fan of the brief time when he'd wear the original costume during the day, and the black one at night…

••

But, again, it really made no sense in the context of all the stories that preceded this period. Plus, as my drawing illustrates, that big honkin' white spider emblem hardly makes for a "stealth" costume.

Well, true. I guess I had assumed when I read it as a kid that Peter was
just switching costumes back and forth for fun! Especially since he was
still dating the Black Cat at the time, and she preferred the black
costume - in fact if I remember correctly, she was the one that had
sewn up the non-alien version of the costume for him.

I just love how these commissions turn out. Full of so much energy. I'm just thankful that JB is willing to do these for us fans.

The way I see it (and I'm guessing others as well) is that these commissions are worth every penny just based upon the amount of stress they relieve. Every time I look at them they make my day just a little better. That for me is worth the price of admission.

JB (or others) who designed this costume? Was it Mike Zeck?

Yep. As reported in MARVEL AGE, the white areas were supposed to be red. I thought that looked really cool.

I love this commission.  It just looks awesome.

I don't know enough about visual processing to explain this, and maybe not even enough to express it very well, but if I squint a little while looking at it, Spider-Man seems to come into greater focus.

All of your hard work on this commission paid off JB! I was never a big fan of the "new costume" but you make it look good. Impressive with all of the black on black, I could cover up your signature and recognize that it's your work. Yes, congrats to JB and Jeffe.
