The final fight, which do you prefer? As much as I love the look of the unadorned black bat, I'm firmly in the yellow oval camp. It's how I first encountered Batman on the spinner racks, and it'll always be "right" to my eyes.

I don't really have a strong preference but I lean towards preferring the non-oval. While many might prefer the oval because it's the one they grew up with, that's precisely why I don't favor it. The non-oval symbol always feels a bit foreign to me because the oval was so ubiquitous when I was growing up. My mind associates the oval with the Super Friends and Adam West, while the plain bat feels darker and more mysterious.

Plain. Never warmed to the oval.

Depends on the story. Some just don't feel right with the oval.

I find I'm never happy on the subject. If I've got one, I want the other. Currently, I prefer the yellow oval.

I don't look at it as "oval" or "no oval" but more "era/style of costume." I love the Dick Sprang Batman, and that costume/art style just looks wrong with a yellow oval. Similarly, Jim Aparo and Neal Adams's Batman look wrong to me without the oval.

I prefer Batman drawn without the yellow oval.
