My list:

1) Kerry Gammill (not in nearly enough of those lists).

2) Brett Breeding (not just an inker - his lines ARE Superman come alive).

3) Dan Jurgens.

4) John Byrne.

5) Jerry Ordway.

The real question is WHY these folks are your favorites?  What about their rendition of Superman really stands out to make them a visual favorite?

For me, Trevor, each of the artists defines Superman for me at a particular
point in my life--right artist, right time.

My Top 5 in alphabetical order:

* Neal Adams

* John Byrne

* Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez

* Kurt Schaffenberger

* Swanderson (Curt Swan and Murphy Anderson)

Honourable Mention: A number of people draw a nice looking Superman, like George Perez, Nick Cardy and Jerry Ordway, or establish an iconic Superman, like Wayne Boring, and the original Joe Shuster (Joe and his studio) stories have tremendous charm.

To me it's about displaying their artistic abilites while staying ON MODEL.
Which is why artists like Frank Quietly or Ed McGuinness would never even make my list of top 100 Superman artists. I'm not saying that any of them are bad - far from it - but their Superman is way off.
