The Defenders, with most of that line up, gave the Avengers a run for the money for my favorite team back in the '70s.

Since I have been a member here there has not been a commission posted by JB that I have wanted more. This just glows of excellence! I love how Nighthawk is swinging by a line, really didn't care for "Flying" Nighthawk. Hellcat and Strange are my second and third fav's in this fantastic piece! Bravo to the commissioner!

That's just effin' awesome John.  Love the perspective and the way you incorporated the background elements into the piece making it almost another character, instead of just some anonymous lines filling up space.

This looks great. I like how you give a recognisable identity to some of Marvel's key buildings, rather than them being just generic constructions.

I always liked JB's Dr. Strange! He looks mystical and "strange" as he should. And yes! He is levitating! It is also nice to see Hellcat! Her debut in Avengers was among my first real issues of my collecting.

I was never a big Defenders fan. I never knew Nighthawk didn't fly in the "new" costume at first. How many times did the surfer actually appear as a member? I still think of him as the Defender's BIG FOUR!

I like seeing Nighthawk swinging Batman-style rather than using his flying wings. The Defenders were neat because they seemed more diverse than the Avengers (or JLA) and since most weren't in solo books the character-driven plots happened in the Defenders' own book.

Very striking image, JB! I really like the detail on Strange's place in the background. Great work!

I love the commission, and each of the characters, but Valkyrie is my favorite.
