I can certainly respect and understand the reasoning for that, and comply. However, my admiration for the traditional Superman design will make it hard.

Of JB's designs, Guardian's is my favorite costume, but I'm also pretty fond of Woverine's brown-and-tan suit.
George Perez's Raven, Starfire, and Cyborg designs are terrific and pretty timeless—to me, at least.
I'm also a big fan of Kid Flash's second costume, the Silver Age Green Lantern's costume, and the Silver Age Flash's costume.

Neal Adams' new costumes for the Angel and Green Arrow are also favorites.
JB's revamp of the FF uniforms was pretty brilliant in my opinion.

JB: That's actually just your opinion.------------
Sorry, as a general rule I usually put an IMO after such statements when referring to things like "Who has the best costume. Who's the best character." etc., I just neglected to on this occasion. My bad.

Gil Kane - Captain Mar-Vell, Adam Warlock, Green Lantern, Atom Dave Cockrum - Nightcrawler, Phoenix, Ms. Marvel•• Gil and Dave were masters of costume design. Gil's designs tended to follow the natural lines of the body, which meant he automatically avoided, as a general rule, the pitfalls which seem to trap so many folk these days. Gil's costumes were sleek and smooth. Dave, as I have mentioned many times before, impressed the heck out of me with the way he tended to use the same general elements over and over, and yet each time came up with a distinct costume. Look at how many of his designs have some combination/variant on thigh boots/opera gloves/sash, yet they all seem unique.

Upside down Canadian flag? *** I think it is a metaphor for the political turbulence which is the main thrust of the series. My favourite costume is the red Daredevil one. Aurora/Northstar woud be my favourtes by JB.

"That cover is reasonably well done, until we get to Guardian's torn knee. Is he just not wearing the battlesuit any more?"
Also, why is Guardian the only member of the group whose costume shows any damage?

why is Guardian the only member of the group whose costume shows any damage?•• That's not a tough one -- the rest of the group may have only just arrived. Looking more closely, it is entirely possible Guardian is NOT wearing his battlesuit. He does not have the helmet on, for instance.

JB:
There's a long line of Cockrum designs that fit that certain look that he used - the Futurians, the Starjammers, the Imperial Guard (Gladiator in particular), the Legion of Super-Heroes (Phantom Girl, Wildfire, Timber Wolf, Lightning Lad, Element Lad, Star Boy), Mystique, Deathcry, the X-Men (Storm, Phoenix, Nightcrawler, Thunderbird, Colossus), Ms Marvel, the Shi'ar, etc.
Hip boots, flared shoulders, sashes, very basic graphics, etc. pop up again and again. But they almost always seem to work.
