Thanks Brad! I'll definitely get my order in.
Currently, I have the Romita Vol.2 coming next week and the Kirby NEW GODS coming in March. This one is a definite as well as the Mignola HELLBOY. Kinda on the fence about Simonson's STARSLAMMERS and Kieth's THE MAXX which should be, to my knowledge, solicited sometime this spring, only because this habit is becoming expensive.
It's hard to turn them down. They are my favorite prestige format comic related books to hit the market ever. If I ever get to meet Scott Dunbier, I'm gonna have to buy him a beer.

Andrew, the Romita book is a work of art, I had to put it down on and off as it stunned the heck out of me. It is a bit much to take in with one reading, but damn it's amazing to keep picking it up and just looking at a couple of pages at a time. You are going to love it.
Cheers, Peter

Andrew, I got mine the other day as well. It's funny, I remember Spider-Man being a brightly colored book. Looking at the pages, I'm amazed hoe much black is there.

Started reading the Romita book last night. WOW! I got to see some of those pages in person when I put together a Spider-Man art exhibition 12 years ago, but this is the first time I've seen most of these as complete issues.
It's really fun seeing three different takes on John Romita over the course of this Artist's Edition, the first volume, which is the Romita/Mooney era, and the Gil Kane book, which features some of Romita's best inking. Apart from the Steve Ditko era (which is begging for an Artist's Edition of its own), Kane/Romita might be the best the character's ever looked.
I'm going to need another bookshelf soon, honestly. Maxx, Hellboy, New Gods, Steranko, Watchmen, and probably some other stuff I'm forgetting. Maybe we'll finally get that Wolfpack edition I keep bugging IDW about.

That should cover the next seven months. I'm getting five of them, two of which are already ordered. Sure beats collecting monthlies.

I know some of the collectors that Scott Dunbier's tapping for the Marvel covers volume. That one's going to be a knockout, and I'm betting that he'll get a few anonymous collectors to show off stuff that no one's seen in decades.

Stephen, you seem to be the man to ask about the Artist Editions. So I was wondering about the Gil Kane ones, because I'm looking to get the Romita ones and was wondering if Kanes would be worth getting as well?

The Kane book's great. Gil Kane inked by John Romita--that's worth the price of admission.
I saw Scott Dunbier yesterday, and he was carrying proofs for the New Gods book. Probably the best one yet. Wow. And he mentioned the next few unannounced books, which are going to be really incredible. It's a great time to be a comics fan.

Sean, I don't have the Gil Kane AE, but I have seen it. It's a great book. If fact, you can kinda take this to the bank. There's no such thing as a bad Artist Edition from IDW. Beware of ones from other companies.

Thanks Andrew and Stephen!
I did not know that there are others from different companies. Thanks for the heads up.
