The Artifact Editions should open the doors for a JB Uncanny X-Men collection!

I wonder what will the difference be between Artifact and Artist? And, how the heck did they assemble original art for entire stories of New Gods?

The Artifact is a collection of non-complete books. Just various pages of art.

I've come to think that IDW has to stop promoting these at cons. All it does is make me realize how much I'm going to spend.
(just kidding, please don't stop.)

Just various pages of art.•• Some of you may recall, when the call went out for an Artist's Edition of my X-MEN work, I asked if any of you would be interested in collections that did not contain complete stories. The response seemed to be that most would.

Great idea. My ONLY request/suggestion would be to have commentary text by JB regarding particular pages. Insight to the creative process and techniques specific to the page and time period for example.
I think it's great that IDW is always developing new ideas to showcase product that collectors want, and respond to feedback. I'm glad they seem to be taking good care of JB.

I thought the same thing when seeing pages of JB/Terry Austin art from the UNCANNY X-MEN days. Those stories are so important to me and to so many readers -- hearing JB's thoughts about the pages and their creation would be fascinating.

Well, if there is a JB X-Men Artifact edition and Terry sees how cool it is, he might change his mind and we'll get a TA X-Men Artifact edition.. then we can buy both and make complete books out of them ;)

As long as they contain approximately the same amount of content I would purchase an JB UXM Artifact Edition in a heartbeat! Although its an extra treat that the whole story is present the main reason I purchased the FF AE is to enjoy the black and white artwork reproduced as close to the original as possible.
I also have to agree, after seeing how well put together the FF AE edition was the question is no longer "Should I buy more editions?" but "Which one will I buy next?"

In my opinion, IDW is hands down the best publisher today. Their artist retrospectives are stunning. The Toth series (now two with a third coming) are gorgeous. The entire Library of American Comics is fantastic. A giant Kaluta book is due soon.

No false modesty here, but I don't feel like I really have a place in that "club". I mean, LOOK at the work there! Makes me want to find honest work!

JB, This is no time for ANY modesty... just sit back and "enjoy the ride"... you've earned a place in the "club" whether you see it or not. :)
