Always felt that Mr. Byrne captured all of Wolevrine 's facets in his drawings.

A very small part of my deep, lizard brain was thinking "cheesecake commission!", I'll admit it.

A very small part of my deep, lizard brain was thinking "cheesecake commission!", I'll admit it.•• Hm. Over the years, a number of fans have assumed I'm Gay, apparently because I draw "hot" men. Hm. I really just draw what I draw!

Oh, come on Trevor! Subtle I'm not, but I try not to be crude -- at least in my thread titles!

I love the "negative" work of ink in the dark parts of the uniform, (gloves, chest and abdo) A question for John Byrne: Do you pencil the "positive" lines in this parts and ink in negative or do you pencil the blacks and ink them in the same way? (Not sure if I have explained myself well enough).

A question for John Byrne: Do you pencil the "positive" lines in this parts and ink in negative or do you pencil the blacks and ink them in the same way?•• Neither! After years of trying it every which way, I long ago realized it was best if I just "winged it", and let the brush guide my hand and eye.

One last question about this topic: did you make any kind of pencil or sketch for this especific Wolverine or was all "winged"?•• I laid out the whole figure, fairly tight. It was only on the black parts of the costume that I "winged it".
